CANARA BANK SHARES SHED 2% AFTER DISAPPOINTING Q1 EARNINGS
Shares of PSU banker Canara Bank eased from its early highs, as investors steadily exited after announcement of the bank’s disappointing earnings, which saw it, post a steep 40.7 percent fall in the first-quarter net profit. Shares of bank were traded at INR 303.50, down 1.9 percent from the previous close. The public sector lender reported the huge fall in net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, pegged at INR 478.84 crore, mainly on the back of increase in provisions.
BHEL COMMISSIONS 500 MW THERMAL UNIT
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has added one more coal-based power plant to the grid by successfully commissioning the 500 MW Unit-13 of Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station (STPS) Stage-V, of NTPC. The project is located in Vindhyanagar in the Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh. Significantly, BHEL has earlier commissioned 6 units of 500 MW rating each at the Vindhyachal power station. With the commissioning of this unit, BHEL has now commissioned 7 sets of 500 MW, aggregating to 3500 MW, the highest by BHEL in a power project.
मोहंती SAIL के नए अध्यक्ष नियुक्त
स्टील अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड (सेल) के निदेशक (तकनीकी एवं व्यापार योजना) एस. एस. मोहंती को 2015-16 वर्ष लिए संस्थान का चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया गया है। कोलकाता में आयोजित भारतीय धातु संस्थान के 69वें वार्षिक आमसभा में कार्यभार ग्रहण किया। धातुविज्ञान संस्थान, भारतीय धातु संस्थान की संकल्पना 1945 की गई थी, जिसका तत्कालीन उद्योग और आपूर्ति मंत्री श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी ने 1947 में उद्घाटन किया था।
ऊषा PNB की एमडी व सीईओ
ऊषा अनंतसुब्रमण्यन को पंजाब नैशनल बैंक के एमडी व सीईओ के पद के लिए नियुक्त किया गया । उन्होंने बैंक के इग्जेक्युटिव डायरेक्टर गौरी शंकर कार्यभार ग्रहण किया है। वह बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ की अतिरिक्त जिम्मेदारी निभा रहे थे। गौरतलब है कि इससे पहले ऊषा महिला बैंक की सीएमडी थीं।
DFCCIL SIGNS 2 CIVIL CONTRACTS FOR WESTERN DFC
DFCCIL has signed two contract agreements for the civil works from Vaitarna to Sachin, 186 km long (CTP-12) and from Sachin to Vadodara, 134 km long (CTP-13) of phase-2 of western Dedicated Freight Corridor. The contracts were signed between Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (DFCCIL-The Employer), and Express Freight Consortium [a consortium consisting of Mitsui & Co.Ltd., Ircon International Limited & Tata Projects Limited.
PRASAR BHARATI & DIGITAL TV RUSSIA SIGN MOU
Prasar Bharati and Digital Television Russia (DTR), Russia’s number one Pay-TV programmer, signed a MoU in August to focus on high quality production, marketing and distribution of content related to art, culture, trade and science, research and technology, etc. Joint production and exchange of TV programs and related services will give audiences in both countries an unprecedented access to a rich variety of thematic entertainment and factual content. The MoU was signed by Jawhar Sircar, Prasar Bharati CEO, and Dmitry Mednikov and Ayuna Badmaeva, representatives of Digital Television Russia, in New Delhi.
